Batter Up!
This weekend Persist Brooklyn is hosting our first-ever 2020 All-Star Event for Candace Valenzuela (TX-24)! On Saturday, August 29th from 12 - 2pm EST we’ll be joining Team Valenzuela for a Day of Action to text Texas voters and educate them all about this Warren Democrat. And we need your help…

But, who is Candace Valenzuela? Watch this 2 minute video and you’ll learn all you need to know.
After overcoming homelessness as a child, Candace learned the critical role public education plays in supporting American families. Later, after becoming an educator herself, she unseated an 18-year incumbent on her local school board who didn’t reflect or understand the values of her community. Now, Candace is poised to be the first Democrat to represent the district in 16 years, all while becoming the first-ever Afro-Latina elected to Congress!
Sure, Texas may be a swing state—but it’s also largely a non-voting state, so we need to put in the work to flip it blue.
So, how can you sign up? We’re glad you asked! Click here to register now for this weekend’s 2020 All-Star kickoff event!
All texting skill levels are welcome. :) We’ll be there to train up your texting arm and coach you through the entire way!
Can’t make it this weekend but still want to support Team Valenzuela? Split a $20.20 donation across all nine (9) of our 2020 All-Star candidates with our brand-new ActBlue page!
One last thing: Did we forget to mention that Candace will be joining us on Saturday too? See you then.
DBFH,
Persist Brooklyn and Team Valenzuela
