It's celebration time 🥂! We are over the moon over the historic victories of our endorsed candidates, Brad Lander (NYC Comptroller), Crystal Hudson (City Council CD-35) and Shahana Hanif (City Council CD-39)! We look forward to working alongside them to create bold, transformational change for our city. What a journey it's been so far - from the Presidential primaries to the general election and through to the NYC primaries. Now, we are already starting to talk about the 2022 midterms and all the key races that we need to watch. Persist Brooklyn has decided to take an intentional step back over the summer, reduce the number of activities and regroup so we can come back after Labor Day stronger and readier than ever for 2022. I know we're all aware of some of the truly crucial races that are going to be contested and with all the voter suppression laws being passed around the country 🤬, we are going to have our work cut out for us! We will continue meeting through our Happy Hours (now monthly and in person 🧑🏾🤝🧑🏼), while our Media & Democracy warriors continue their work to hold our journalists to account through regular meetings and special events like the upcoming session with Senator Sheldon Whitehouse on July 21st. Join us for another face-to-face Happy Hour! We had a great time at the last one at Hunky Dory and can't wait to see you all again! We should have all the primary results by then, and the way things are going we may have a LOT to celebrate!!!

We’re beyond thrilled to be joined by U.S. Senator Sheldon Whitehouse of Rhode Island—an authority on the dangers of Dark Money and a giant in the fight for Climate Resiliency! He’ll be with us to answer questions about Dark Money and its hold on American Democracy, as well as what we can do about it as activists.
