We must persist for RBG

"Ruth Bader Ginsburg will always be an American icon -- and a Brooklyn icon. This loss is immeasurable. Let's continue to persist in her honor." -- Persist Brooklyn

Hey friends, This was a hard weekend for our democracy. Please take the time to grieve, be kind to yourself and others, and let this moment remind you of what is at stake in November. We have no other option but to win, and not only win the presidency; we must flip the Senate to honor RBG's legacy and ensure the Supreme Court's legitimacy. Persist Brooklyn has endorsed 4 incredible Democratic candidates for Senate in races that are truly flippable: Cal Cunningham in North Carolina, Jamie Harrison in South Carolina, MJ Hegar in Texas, and Reverend Raphael Warnock in Georgia. In addition to getting involved at one of our upcoming events, we encourage you to make

a donation to their campaigns, if you're able. If you'd like to split a donation between all of them, visit Persist Brooklyn's ActBlue page HERE (all donations go directly to candidates).

Choose to fight only righteous fights, because then when things get tough — and they will — you will know that there is only one option ahead of you: Nevertheless, you must persist. -- Elizabeth Warren

ALL WEEK LONG: Make sure you and everyone you know has filled out the Census at 2020census.gov!!!

The Census will impact our neighborhoods for years to come, from the congressional representation of our districts to federal funding for crucial social programs. The deadline is September 30th, and many neighborhoods in NYC are still undercounted. This is a quick action we can all take to protect our democracy and support our communities!

Winners of Elections should only be announced once all ballots are counted and accounted for!

Click HERE to read our DEMAND FOR ACCURATE REPORTING ON ELECTIONS *We call on the media to uphold their responsibility to report elections accurately. An election ends, not when the polls close, but only when the last vote is counted. Media should begin NOW to normalize the idea that we will probably have to wait weeks after November 3, 2020 for final results and should lay the foundation that a delayed result is not due to a corrupted process.*  Please SHARE our statement on your social media accounts, and if you know of any partner organizations that would like to sign on to our statement, let us know!
